Solar PV panels convert sunlight into electricity that can be used to power your home or building. Simple to install and maintain. Surplus electricity can be fed back to the grid or into battery storage.
The solar PV (Photovoltaic) panels are made of lots of tiny cells of semi-conductive materials. An electrical charge is created at an atomic level as the semi-conductor absorbs photons from the sunlight and releases electrons. The electrical charge of the cells can be captured and combined into a useful electrical current, which can be fed directly into your home or business, back into the grid, or into battery storage. The systems benefit from low to no maintenance costs and proven relability, as early adopters have been benefitting from their panels for over 10 years.
Solar PV panels are most commonly installed on a roof, but can be ground mounted. Generation can occur from any facing or angle and even on cloudy days, however peak production occurs at south facing 30 angle. A DC cable is run from the panels to inverter, which typlically ranges in size from shoe box to a suitcase, depending on the size of the system. An AC cable runs from the inverter into the fuse board via a generation meter. Planning permission is rarely required to install solar PV panels; they’re classed as “Permitted Development” (PD).
Completely Eco Ltd will carry out a comprehensive survey of your property to find a suitable location for the panels, inverter and battery if applicable. Access to the roof is obtained with scaffolding supplied by Completely ECO Ltd. Retrofitted solar PV panels are attached to the roof by clamping them to a rail, which is attached via bracket to the rafter. ‘In roof’ solar PV systems can completely replace roof tiles and sit in a tray that is also attached to the rafters. Completely Eco Ltd will register your system with the Distribution Network Operator. Standard solar installations take approximately two days.
Completely Eco Ltd are MCS accredited and have registered electricians to carry out the necessary electrical work. Only solar PV systems installed by MCS accredited companies benefit from Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) for the electricity they feed back into the grid.
